| She had always been afraid. afraid to be alone. afraid to go sleep afraid to walk through the darkness of her own home Her earliest memories are coloured with a bright shade of fear But there was no one to hold her hand to stay with her until she fell asleep. the only thing to distract her was the daily task of cleaning her mother's sick. At night she would read. book after book. any book she could find anything to keep the nightmares from creeping up on her. when her eyes were too tired to read, she cried. out of fear. out of loneliness. With the daylight came the polite smiles. the mask she perfectly applied every single day. until finally it cracked. without warning Her mother was gone. Her father might as well have been. She was alone and there was no one left to hide from She let herself fall. as far as she could go. testing the limits. she quickly discovered there weren't any. |
